Christmas is coming and the media love a Christmas gift guide. And another. And another. Why? Because their audiences love them. And because it’s relatively easy for journalists to plan in.

There is always a section for ‘eco gifts’ because the media like to cover all bases, and make it seem like they care about the environment while also getting wrapped up in the season of excessive waste and over-consumption.

This time of year is crucial for green businesses, just like any other retailer - so don’t miss out on the chance to feature in Christmas gift guides.

It’s not too late… yet.

Here’s what to do…

If you want to get into magazines, you’ve probably missed the sleigh - they work with longer lead times and their guides will have been locked in by October.

National, regional and local newspapers are still open to ideas. So too are digital guides, websites, newsletters - also YouTube channels and podcasts.

But you need to stand out from the crowd to secure your place next to the stock graphics of snowmen, robins, baubles and presents.

Follow this insider journalist’s guide…
